Job Title: Shift Supervisor
Reports To: Operations Manager / Contract Manager
Supervising: All Operational Support Staff
Primary Role:
To support and assist the Operations Manager / Contract Manager by organizing and managing the Operational Support Function eg: Goods In, Order Preparation, inventory movements and Goods Outbound, in such a manner as to provide the best possible service to the customers for our client within the economic constraints whilst maintaining good staff relations.
Tasks:
To be responsible for ensuring that day to day goods receipt, storage, pick and dispatch functions operate efficiently and safely.
To ensure that the planning of workloads and deployment of staff maximizes the contracts resources.
To lead from the front, motivating the team to ensure customer service targets are met and budgeted financial goals are achieved.
Management Information and reporting.
Investigation of queries and resolving them.
Liaison with all departments of our clients.
To work within, promote and identify improvements in our clients Quality Management System
Filing
Team briefing and staff awareness
Implementation and adherence to procedures
To maintain a safe working environment in line with Health and Safety Act at work and other relevant legislation.
To ensure stock loss / damage is minimised .
To ensure proper and effective use of warehouse MHE and that damage to company's assets are minimized.
To maintain a high quality image throughout the operation at all times
Assist the Operations Manager in controlling staffing levels eg: absenteeism.
Ensure the company's disciplinary code is adhered to at all times.
Identify and recommend subordinate staff training requirements.
To train and develop contract warehouse staff on all levels to maximize their potential on a fair and consistent basis.
To maintain a high level of good communications.
Self presentation - all warehouse operatives must attend work dressed in an acceptable fashion wearing Company uniform, where it is supplied

Report all accidents, of any nature and however caused, to their immediate supervisor/team leader completing all necessary documentation promptly and accurately.
Report any item or problem having or potentially having an adverse effect on the health and safety of any other person to their immediate supervisor or team leader.
